Following on from the six-part TV series which will be shown on BBC Two from September, the By Any Means DVD will document the journey of gritty adventurer Charley Boorman as he embarks on his most challenging journey to date, travelling from his home town in Wicklow, Ireland, to Wollongong in Australia, using over one hundred different forms of transport.

The By Any Means story began when Charley, having completed Long Way Round and Long Way Down with Ewan McGregor, was ready for a new challenge. Wanting to experience how people travelled before commercial aircraft was so readily available, Charley along with director and expedition leader Russ Malkin and cameraman Mungo, departed from Charley’s home town of Wicklow in Ireland to embark on an epic journey which saw them pass through twenty five countries, using as many modes of transport as they could get their hands on.

The DVD follows Charley and the crew as they encounter engaging characters, experience fascinating cultures and beautiful landscapes, whilst travelling on a variety of forms of transport including everything from a dug-out canoe to a container ship and of course Charley’s old favourite, the motorbike!
