American Jonah Street Shines in Stage Five on KTM
Yesterday
Young American Jonah Street crowned an impressive couple of days with his first Dakar stage win 5'53 ahead of Frans Verhoeven and 7'34 in front of the Chilean Lopez.

Dakar 4th stage: Marc Coma Nice and Easy...
Yesterday
Victory on the fourth stage went once again to Marc Coma (Repsol KTM) 1'17 ahead of Cyril Despres (Red Bull KTM) with the American Jonah Street (KTM) third (at 1'21). Overall Marc increases his lead to 42'57 ahead of new second place man Street with Fretigne third (at 43'42). Jordi Viladoms (Repsol KTM) is fourth (at 55'57) with Cyril moving up to 11th (at 1h37'07). After yesterday's crash Alain Duclos went better today to finish 16th on the special 26'44 behind the winner.

Coma & Viladoms Cross the Line Together - Dakar Stg. 3
Yesterday
The long stage from Puerto Madryn to Jacobacci smiled on the Repsol KTM team with Marc Coma and Jordi Viladoms crossing the final finishing line together ahead of their rivals. Less fortunate was their KTM team mate Cyril Despres (Red Bull KTM) who again suffered tyre problems and had to wait for his support rider Alain Duclos to ‘lend' him his rear wheel.

Marc Coma Still Overall Leader After Stage 2

Over the second short stage victory went to Frans Verhoeven (KTM) 0'41 ahead of Cyril Despres (Red Bull KTM) with David Fretigne third (at 1'04). Despite running into problems with his oil cooler, Marc Coma (Repsol KTM) maintains his overall lead 13'47 ahead of Verhoeven with Fretigne third (at 16'51).

The first special of the 2009 Dakar should have been an uneventful warm-up but of the four KTM factory riders only Marc Coma made it through untroubled during the 371 kms from Buenos Aires to Santa Rosa to take a commanding lead.

Despres and Coma 2-3 in Dakar Series "Pax Rally" in Portugal

The second in the new Dakar Series rallies concluded on Sunday in Portugal with KTM factory riders Cyril Despres and Marc Coma taking second and third place in an event that finally went to local rider Ruben Faria. Following the introduction of the Dakar Series in the form of the Central European Rally earlier in the year, in part a consequence of the last minute cancellation of the classic Dakar race last January, riders were anxious to test their mettle in the atmosphere of the Portuguese countryside.

Tim Farr Second in Erzberg Iron Road Prologue

KTM's American factory rider and 13-times ATV Pro Champion caused a sensation at the Erzberg Rodeo when he placed second riding the company's sports ATV, launched in 2007 in the USA and in 2008 in Europe. It was at least 60 places better than ATVs had ever achieved on the Iron Mountain in former editions of the Erzberg Rodeo. It was the American professional racer's first appearance at the Erzberg Rodeo, an event he said he had been following with interest for several years. "I really wanted to come here to compete and it's quite a surprise for me that I was up with the front runners. I definitely want to come back to Erzberg again," Farr said at the post race press conference.

The competitors woke up yesterday morning with a clear sky and a very comfortable temperature. After the start from the Heroes'Square a liaison of 58 kilometer was scheduled. Cyril Despres was the first bike to ride of the podium.

Despres Triumphs Onboard KTM for Third Red Bull Romaniacs Victory

Frenchman Cyril Despres was the ultimate winner of the 2007 Red Bull Romaniacs Hard Enduro Rally, his third victory in this tough event in Romania's Carpathian Mountains. Despres, well-known for his legendary victories, won the event in 2004 and 2005 and came home in front in the final special over 190km ahead of New Zealander Chris Birch and privateer Gerhard Forster. Birch finished second overall and the German Forster was third in the final rankings.
