Peugeot has announced major price reductions on its range of scooters, making two-wheels an even more attractive alternative for drivers looking to reduce their travelling costs as the credit crunch bites. UK scooter sales rose by 7.4% in June this year as escalating fuel prices encouraged people to switch from cars to more economical forms of transport. Petrol prices were driven to new highs between May and June, according the Office for National Statistics, with the average price of petrol at the pumps increasing by 5.3 pence per litre, to stand at 117.6 pence, (£5.35 gallon). Meanwhile diesel prices rose by 7.1 pence per litre to stand at 130.5 pence (£5.94 gallon).
